Hmm.....try using the native XP software.....that should be easier...
I changed from the native XP drivers to widcomm because my W800i worked better with the widcomm
Seems i can have one or the other

and as i spent 4hrs getting the correct widcomm drivers and setting my W800i up correctly, i think i'll leave them for now

Actually i have a desktop PC and my new Sony Vaio S4XP Laptop

But the pc is in a bit of a state and won't get past the logon screen, so i'm going to reinstall Windows 2000 when i get round to it, but for now i'm on my laptop

Hey you guys are absolutely tremendous. I looked at the thread on how to connect to internet using the pc/laptop connection. You explain everything so well. One question though.
I am considering, in fact WILL purchase a laptop today. Is there anyway I can look for one that circumvents the need to put a b/t dongle in the usb port. Does a laptop stating it "has bluetooth"mean what I am asking or is this a dumb question.
I would rather ask you knowledgable guys than the service people in the shop.So any quick response would be appreciated as I intend leaving to make the purchase soon.

@irfan....what you are hoping for is most certainly possible

All you need to do is get a notebook with "integrated" o "inbuilt" bluetooth and there should be no need for a dongle....cheers
