> Bluetooth Disabled By SimCard !!!
Bookmark topic
So we have France, the Philippines and Israel by now. And if you put a local SimCard in the t68i it will disable the Bluetooth.
Any ideas what to do ?

just a bit of clarification.
the 2.4Ghz band license of Meralco is only applicable in Metro Manila (not the whole Philippines)

I know you can hack the Sim but I think it would be much more practical to hack the phone somehow with a code or something

There is a slight chance of interference (if you're unlucky), the U.K. and some other countries may be okay with Bluetooth and 802.11b but the faster Wi-Fi 802.11a uses a higher band that requires legistation to free it up as it is used by the military and emergency services in some of these other countries.
We all have our legistative problems with wireless...

I am having the same problem - However I tested the simcard with T39 as well and in the 39 there is no problem - the same happens regardsless of the network - I can operate BT everywhere with my voicestream SIM (USA) but not with Orange IL SIM.
Orange people say there is nothing in their SIM to block operation.
I think it is in the firmware ! the same happens with Cellcom SIM - I think country code 972 disables BT on this terminals.
I will have my terminals software downgraded next time I am in the US. and let you know.

SonyBoy - Try to do the following just to make sure it is not the SIM card.
Put in your UK sim - turn the unit on.
turn it off - put in an old Orange SIM card (not the SIMple model)
turn it on - is it still disabled - if so try the same trick with pelephone SIM (issued for roaming - actually vodaphone network prefered by this Sims) and Cellcom Sims .
If all fail - then I think it is a firmware thing and in this case - I will downgrage firmware soon..
