Hi m0hammad,

I owned both a P910i and W800i, hence the HPM-70 of course. I can happily tell everyone this:

P910i + SP88A + HPM-70 + PowerMP3 = Power Bass with adequate treble too.

I've spent a lot of $$$ on earphones trying to find one that really got the bass as P900/P910i's earphone is really... errr... crappy compared to my old P800 earphone. After purchasing 3 different brands of earphones @ various prices, and worse when just 2 weeks before W800i was released, I've wasted another USD$30 on the Panasonic in-ear type of earphone, which is the same kind of design as the HPM-70, whereby you pushes it into your ear. I was sorely disappointed with the results and nearly gave up until W800i was released locally.

During then there was a promotion going on and SE was giving us a pair of free BOSE Companion2 speakers + extra 512MB MS Pro DUO, that lure me into purchasing the W800i. It is then that I realises that HPM-70 is using a standard 3.5mm plugged into the "pop-port" handsfree connector. Hence I took it out for a try with my SP88A and was.... OMG... then I quickly swap out my MS Pro DUO over the W800i and hahaha... SAME BASS, SAME QUALITY, SAME "WALKMAN". Only thing is that W800i can use EQ to adjust all my AAC music (yes, I don't like MP3, AAC is the way to go) whereas PowerMP3 tentatively cannot which loses out when I turned on W800i's EQ for Bass (not MegaBass as this setting is too much and will backfire) .

Cheers

guyz, is it possible to cut the wire above the HPM 70 "pop-port" and then cut the bottom portion (with the jack i.e.) of the standard 2.5mm stereo headset (bundled with p9X0) and then "stich" them together?? Is it possible?? I ud be interested to know.

adnhk1, do u have any say in this matter.

so can you use the HPM-70 with a basic 3.5 mm to 2.5 mm adapter and use it with a p910a, and keep the functionality of the mic and answer button?

@getagrip, thats what I have and I love it except for the retractable cord. I wish it had a regular cord, but I suppose you can't win them all.

Like I said, I use my Sony MDR-EX71SLs with them and sounds almost as good as my iRiver DAP.

I use the Sony MDR-EX71SLs too. The results are very good indeed. The original phones really are awful.

B4 doing this, i will peel away some portion of the wires exterior (marked in orange in the pics), later i will connect the wires and tape them. As u can c from the images, i want to cut and throw away the portion merked in red (the connector in the HPM 70) and replace it with the portion marked in green in the other pic (the connector of the bundled stereo headsets that come with p910). Will it be possible, or will just be dumping $$$.

THX TO ALL AGAIN
