> Get caller's name on HBH-30
Bookmark topic
I think this works on the HBH-15 but not on the HBH-30. I've got both headsets and only the former announces the caller on the headset for me. Seems crazy to me to have the headset ringing but the voice being announced on the phone speaker, but that's how it seems to work on the HBH-30!

My HBH-30 does announce the recorded callers name when my t68i rings. Works right off the box! My software version is R2A014.

My settings are same as yours..... and still cannot hear the callers name through the headset.
The only thing differenent is the software versions for the T68i.

It has been reported before that this began to work after updating to R2E.
I'm not sure about the american R3C software - is seems they run a different numbering scheme? R2F is still the newest in Europe - and quite close to R2E.
Anyway, I understand that the R2E is supposed to have added support for receiving calls using voice in HS (say "answer"/"reject"), and I though also for caller names in the HS and voice-dialing using the HS.
So I would definately use it as an excuse to get the newest software - just tell the ppl. in the shop, that it doesn't work, but it has been fixed in the newest software. That usually means they will do the upgrade for free.

Just got my T68i replaced (previous one had a sticky joystick), this one's SW is R3B003 (US, AT&T), I guess I got some relatively old stock. Anyway, HBH-30 works exactly the same as before with R3C001:
1) Voice answer/reject works
2) Magicword does not work - this is expected, as i suspect it'll be too much battary drain on the headset to constantly listen and transmit what it hears to the phone
3) ***** still CAN'T get caller's name on HBH-30! *****
Does anyone know how can i use my HBH-30 with my laptop (IBM ThinkPad A31p, bulit-in bluetooth, WinXP Pro) so i can listen to music and use it as a microphone? Thanks!
