The problem you are having with the W800i seems exactly like the 'stand by bug' that effected so many early k750i's. Would take it back and ask for a replacement.

Seems we're unlucky then, if that's the case. I mean, I've seen many posts on Esato regarding k750s and the 'standby bug', but no one else with a w800 on here has reported this, as far as I know.
