Does anyone know how to successfully do a firmware upgrade?

I find the drivers arnt reckognised by the windows found new hardware wizard. I had problems getting them on - ended up simply using another usb port and they were found and I managed to update. Didnt lose a thing on the update but now the SE File Manager doesnt work and I have had to reinstall it and again I have the same problem but this time the windows found new hardware doesnt find anything.
How do you get the drivers you need on your PC when windows found new hardware wizard doesnt find anything?

Shit, i tried to upgrade and there was a problem whenever i was trying to hold c the update didnt go forward, but after a million of tries i did it, the progress bar went to 1% and... COMMUNICATION ERROR!!!!!!!! Now my phone is dead, recovery mode doesn't seem to be working for me, i can't even turn my phone on, now i'm going to SE service center and im trying to make them fix it for FREE, or i will be VERY MAD!!!!!!

Ahhh im lucky today, I gave the last chance to SE recovery mode, and IT WORKED. Without problems the recovery mode updated my phone to R1N035, this frimware rockssss really:D

I never update anything from my mobile cause I do not know are the things to update....please enlight me....ty

When a handset is released (any handset) it may have bugs and may not work as it should or not as good as it good. Basically having the latest firmware insures you have a tip top handset as all bugs are ironed out.
I still cant get them drivers on by the way.
