@BlueQuill, no... PTT (push to talk) is like a 2 way radio... or a walkie talkie... but its your phone. you can make calls and everything, but then you have a button on the side, and you have a special number (atleast inthe US its a special number then i have a number that looks like this... 156*3225--*12 where the stars actually represent the star onthe phone and the -- represents the alst digits of my number)... but you scroll to the person in your phonebook, and push the button, and you can talk right away. the person doesnt have to pick up or anything... and you can only talk if you push the button... when you let go, the other person cant hear you... exactly liek a walkie talkie... so its a walkie talkie and a phone haha idk bad explination but i tried

Vodafone NZ charge NZ$19.95 per month for unlimited PTT usage.
I think this may be temporary pricing though to get people interested and buying compatible hardware.
@EastCoastStar
I hear PTT is big in the US. All NZ's PTT hardware comes from over there.

you can CALL any number... but you cant radio (walkie talkie) any number, you can only use the walkie talkie feature to others with that feature on your network.
@carkitter yea, it is really popular here. Some places you go, noone uses it, but some places, everyone uses it...
its real handy... but sometimes it gets REALLY annoying because u can have it on speakerphone (which is the main reason to have it, no speaker phone... it would be pointless) anyway, it goes ""beep beep" then u talk, then "beeep" then the pther person talks, and sometimes u always hear peoples phones, and it gets annoying when u have a headache and stuff haha but with all the people here who have it, you learn not to pay much attention to it but for the most part... very useful
