as i see its more then enough to release lets say 2 or 3 smartphones in one year - in average. but at the moment of the launch, i wanna have a perfect fw, good and well working features, of course the latest ones. and i dont wanna have an upgrade within 3 monthes, cos se isnt able to test the fones enough and launch it cos of the only reason: delay, as usually...

that's exactly what i'm talking about- p990 buyer doesn't care for dimensions, weight, and especially for price. high price of p-series is because they're symbian+pda+touch screen. if they did what you suggest, the price cut would be so low, most of us still couldn't buy it. just as if you saved 1500 euros by leaving out stereo and air-conditioner on 100,000euro car. situation is like- if you have 600 you can buy it. if you don't need some option, don't use it. As soon as they come up with a Smartphone that can be comfortably operated with 1 hand only they'll be onto a winner. It's just a matter of time before they branch out. As has been pointed out, capital would probably be the greatest delaying factor right now, but given time and an informed market the Symbian/Smartphone arena would look vastly different in a few years. I'm guessing that the popularity of the K and W series would not only boost profits but also serve to cultivate a purchaser-base for future SE smartphone owners. This message was posted from a Nokia

I think it is dumb for nokia to release new phone with minor upgrade !!!!

I like SE for merging all the upgrade before it release a new phone model...

This is one of the reason i am sick with nokia handphones @_@

Just my opinion lol

well... you can always take the flip off...
we can call that a p991 with flip is a p990 hahaha just kidddinggg im being retarded...

what i think would be kinda cool is... have a qwerty on one side of the flip, and a keypad etc on the other side... (liek the p910, idk abotu the p990, i never cared to look...) then... find a way to make the flip reversableee! so you can have the qwerty or the keypad on the outside... that would be kinda cool IMO

This has been happening for years and years with Nokia and I don't think that it's going to stop. They have the market share and you will find that everyone uses almost a different Nokia. They come out with a little update and release a new model, I guess there's nothing wrong if you like releasing 20-40 different models each year.

As for me, I prefer SE phones. I always have since I bought my first, t68, then the t68i... then I jumped straight on the p900, p910i and k750i and i will go ahead with the p990i when it comes out. Why? Because it's class, it's quality and it does everything I need. I was slightly miffed when wifi and 3g were not out the last time with the p910i but all is well and i think the p990i is going to do good.

Regular joes? They don't exist anymore, alot of people buy the pseries phones for different reasons. Business, entertainment, etc. Concerning price? The p910i wasn't that expensive. Not like the p800,p900. Every that ones want will eventually afford it.

Me, I use practically all the functions on the phone and since I have been an anti nokia person for my whole life, not any of their new models are going to change my mind, because I know in 2 weeks, they'll have an update again and I'll have to probably change my phone

Just releasing one pseries phone a year is just fine with me. There's no need to have 80 different models of the same phone.

If SE was to make a P990 for pure corporate business users, then they should keep the WLAN feature & push email implementation & remove the camera unless they could demonstrate that network administrators from the corporation could render it devoid from user use EVEN with doing an SE online firmware upgrade!!!! Remember the reason why RIM sells so many devices & is shipped to corporate personel; its because THEY and admins can guarantee complete security of these devices!! While they're at it they should kill the MSDuo Pro slot; as this could be a potential security violation - I cant use my phone while at work for these 2 major reasons; part of the perks working on an IBM contract customer!

Now a Larger screen isnt needed, if so then hold your device sideways and rotate the screen image; many P910i users were doing this for encoded videos for some time. Enjoy this screen its quality will be better than most of the competition; even teh Nokia E70 with a smaller screen with higher resolution.

Now if you want a consumer version without WLAN or even 3G>> then someone must've dropped you on your head! You want that pick up a P910/800 and enjoy that. Else your not getting a Pseries device in the first place.

I always complain about EDGE; but with WLAN within and if seemless data transfer/downloads & VoIP calling xfer then I can forgive it.

I do see that some people would want a Pseries without the cameras and I think they should consider it. It won't cut the price a lot but it'll make it available for a lot more people.
I don't see how a MSD slot could be a threat and wouldn't a microSD or anything else pose similar threat too? What about a big built in memory?
