Does un-branding mean you can use the SE update site for firmware upgrades?

Many users on this forum have reported that using SEUS on a de-branded phone simply re-brands it (albeit with a later firmware version) and, worst still, re-locks it!!

I'd be interested to know if that's always the case....

@ VinnyP technically you should be able to use the update service regardless of the phone being branded or not, As it usually depends on what firmware you have on your phone to begin with. Unless i an totally mistaken. This message was posted from a T68i

I would get an unbraded one as well...however, what I have learnt from my V800...if its not branded then the vodafone network wont recognise it...meaning that you wont be able to use the voda live portal...which means no footy highlights...

mate, no one knows a date when its available or how much it will cost. we never do in advance, especially not this far in advance

my guess though is that it will be around the £500 mark sim free, possibly as high as £600 initially. This is where the P800 started as did the P900 and P910 and generally I find that SE prices their products at the starting level of their predecessor
