The on-board Media Player should be capable of handling MP4 Files. The difference as always is, better Quality in Lesser Space (in as much as compressed files can give. A single Uncompressed .wav might just take ALL the space of the other MP3/MP4/AAC files ) This message was posted from a S700

Super G, mp4 files can have just video, just audio, or both...you should try to get some info before saying things like that

as other suggest itunes gets my vote. convert to aac (thats what itunes calls mp4)dont convert below 128k. also dont forget that itunes wont put the songs on your phone or card you still have to do that via bluetooth or the usb cable you got with the phone. a little tip if you havent got one already get a card reader if your going to be doing a bit of converting and added song on a regular basis it will save you a lot of time, there only cheap in the uk a card reader for just about all formats usb2 compatable will set you back below £15 the time you will save more than pays for the reader.
mp4 is just a capusle for either video audio or both just to clear it up

There's also another possibility and I'm amazed no one bother to mention it.

The FREE Disc2phone software that is included on the W800i cd, but that is also available to download from the SE site.
You can convert tracks from cd's and some other formats (not wma though) to mp3 and you can choose from a wide range of Kb rates.

It's quite nice. Maybe you wanna give it a try.

isnt disc2phone painfully slow at converting and putting it on the phone. ive nevered used it just what ive read from others also the software its self isnt the best to navigate around, again not personal experience just from reviews and users

I've never bothered with disc2phone, as i've got most of my music collection already in mp3 format via dbpoweramp. Transfer is a simple drag and drop of the album into an artist folder on the mem stick via the usb cable. Is file transfer faster via a card reader? This message was posted from a WAP device

No, from my own personal experience it's NOT "painfully slow". It only takes a few seconds to rip a track from a CD.
It's quite easy to use and you can convert stuff to mp3 even when the phone is not connected. Just save it to a folder that you can designate.

@ijefferies
Your reply is a little bit off-topic. It's great that you already have your music collection in mp3 format. But it turns out that bubblemel needs exactly that, a program that does the conversion to mp3, and disc2phone is quite useful for that.
