hahahaha
i knew a few people who kept their wallets in their front pockets while christmas shopping last year (its very busy, and they were paranoid about pick-pockets lol) and 2 people i know had a magnetic phone holder, and it messed up their cards, i laughed at them
i always wondered about the magnets in the cases too, glad to know it doesnt metter with the type of screen
also... someone earlier said it wont mess the speaker up unless its a really strong magnet... dont all speakers have mangets in them? (not like mobile speakers, but ones in the house, and car etc)

Yup, house speakers have real magnets in them. And used to be, the heavier the magnet, the better the sound quality. I'm not that sure nowadays though.
Regarding the magnet in the case. It kinda eased my worries when I saw that SE was launching official cases using magnets on them. Like the ICE-30 for my S7. I mean, the manufacturer itself wouldn't launch accessories that will shorten the life of their mani product right?

Heheh... It does sound like a good idea to provide an accessory that shortens the lifespan of a product so that consumers would have no choice but to get a new one regularly. Heheh...

As for the effect on phones, i used to be able to pick up small paperclips with my p800's speaker. Very magnetic thing that is.
i doubt it really would. it needs to be a pretty strong magnet to mess up the card. the mythbusters proved it doing tons of tests on cards

I had an Ericsson Car holder for my T39m a few years ago that was fitted to the dashboard with a strong magnet, since there were other users of the car that had other phone models that did not fit in the holder. Anyway, the magniric field from that magnet triggered the reed element inside the phone that is used to detect wether the hatch is closed or not, so the keyboard became disabled while the phone was in the holder.

What I said was "it has to be a very strong magnet to have an effect on the speakers.", I didn't say mess up -- and it's a totally different thing. The effect I was referring to is in the quality of the sound output (not harmful) as speakers produce sound by magnetic / electromagnetic forces.
