seems no interest for the us market, sadly u had to accept this fact i guess. as i remember, it was the same in the good old /// times aswell, eu and asia were the runner, just later were more models made for the us market.actually, how was sony selling in the past?

i ment sony, in the past. imo, se analyzed the situation and the needs and it seems, like many new models "aren welcome" in the us cos of less interest. or do other brands doesnt let se launch some models there? moto and the others wanna rule the market?

Moto can only rule while sleeps.....

If were building quad bands as Moto does in all it's models, then and only then, would gain considerable ground.

Actually im also not too satisfied with se's strategy here in india,they are not giving us the edge phones as we discussed earlier in another thread (american guys , you are at least lucky here. You get a few edge phones for the least,we havent yet) . I hope they release more quad band edge phones for global release. This message was posted from a T610

I'm quite sure that the successors of K750i and other high end phones will be quad band phones.

And as you know, there will be "five-band" phones in the market soon: newcomers Nokia E61 and Nokia N80 operate in GSM850/900/1800/1900 and WCDMA networks. I hope that SE will announce about the creation of "five-band" phone in the nearest future too.

Actually, you need a six band phone to cover every market since NA will not use same WCDMA frequency as the rest of the world once they introduce WCDMA.

This is mainly why it takes so long for NA to keep up with the rest of the world. I would blame your government rather than SE to begin with.

Reo, obviously doesnt know how the network of Cingular originated. It had so many 1900mhz band holes that it needed patching with 850mhz band JSUT LIKE ROGERS' Wireless here over the boarder. You should also complain about Cingulars laggin method of choice for EDGE while your at it. (hint, its not MSC 9 its MSC 6; which is why EDGE speeds seem low on an average basis).

With all the no cost roaming agreements Cingular has with Tmobile and other major providers there is no reason for 850mhz band. If the phone is a PC4 based device then signal strength will be sufficient. The only reason to complain is if EDGE was only offered on 850Mhz band or their UMTS was as well and SE made a global 1900/2100mhz UMTS phone that left you out.

Apparently here in Canada Rogers Wireless is doing just that with the EDGE service on 850Mhz only band even though They've just swallowed up most of the best cell sites from Fido's 1900Mhz only EDGE.

BTW when you leave the SE camp for a Motorola, dont let the crappy GUI hit your face on the way out. Not being rude but the user interface on ALL motos just cannot compare to an SE, they just seem way too old.

I do no how Cingular works and I am entiltled to blow some steam.

Everyone blows steam once in a while. Hey who knows... in the end, I may not convert to Moto.

I think both Cingular and are at fault. Cingular for running on mostly 850 which by the way is proven to be a better signal which penetrates through walls, buldings ect...... And should make more quad band phones.

I do agree that in the years that I've tried a ton of cell phone makers,
there is nothing like the interface , functions and features.

It is what won me over. The first time I tried a phone , I felt as if it were tailored made for me. I hope produces more quad bands in the next series of phones in the near future.
