I forgot to say, that yes, I have PC Suite on my computer but that shouldnt make any difference as to my computer accepting the transfers from my phone should it?

So you're using original drivers. It would be very helpful to know the maker of drivers. If you're using WIDCOMM or MSI in combination with windows xp+sp2 it's expected that you have problems, but it can be sorted. If it's Bluesoleil i won't be able to help you.
