What Krubach said apart- though conceptually workable- what'll be the Initial cost & Return on Investment? Hypothe'ly, EVEN IF (& I doubt it coz of Legalities)no damage/theft etc. occur -HOW TO DETERMINE CONSUMER PREF.RANCE? In a nascent market, how many P series, XDA's, low enders etc. you gonna stock? a soft launch/ survey/ word of mouth coupled with Partnership (unless you can buy soo many phones) may work.. Damn- here Credit Card Cos. thems have tuff time to recover from Defaulters. LoL.. So watch out.. This message was posted from a S700

Imagine someone renting a W800i for two months.
After two months it is likely to get a few scratches, because NO ONE can keep the phone intact.
You'd either activate the deposit (i don't think the guy would be happy), or rent it to another one, and, well, i wouldn't rent something that already has scratches...

Just my USD$0.02...

I don't know if that's correct, I mean, if you're going to rent a phone, it doesn't have to be new all the time. Its like renting a DVD, you want to see the film. It may have been used many times before, its scratched and fingerprinted, but you don't mind, as long as you get what you wanted...?

i agreed with chazzer.... the phones dont have to be 'like brand new', it is like renting a dvd - the purpose is to see if you like the phone - not to show off your immaculate phone (with no scratches) as at that point it is not 'your phone', it simply a tester.. i wouldnt mind if the phone i 'rented' had scatches etc as surely the basis for my renting of the phone is to check the usabillity of the phone.. this would then give me a good basis on whether or not to pay the full price and have a spanking new one

great idea, i would certainly be interested and it would probably save us all a lot of money in the long run!

best of luck with your adventure
