Buddy, your pc does'nt need to be on all the time ! (unless you decide to be a power folder) Just READ on the site and set your pc accordingly to your usage. You should not change your habits because of the program ! Even when you are 'using' your pc there is plenty of chip-power not used.(unles you encode something) Yes your electricity bill will go up (marginally) because the chip will run at all times close to 100%. No where near 100 pound a year thou.(unless you leave the pc on day and night) This message was posted from a Nokia 7650

I tried 'folding' once for custompc. It was too computer intensive though and my hardware couldnt cope with me using the computer at the same time as I was folding. I remember it being something to do with medical science though so it was for a good cause.

They didnt need me anyway as you should see the some of the computers those guys are running

Well if your PC is older then 5 years it may make a difference, but then again if you are using such a old 'charity horse' made in the last millenium your contribution will be marginal indeed. Also you must ask your self if it is worth to switch such a old computer on at all because the electricity you use may be more worth then the computation it does ! My oldest and still running computer is a 1982 Commodore 64 bought by my dad as my 16 years birthday present :-) This message was posted from a Nokia 7650

My computer is only a year old. Its just that technology is evolving so quickly these days....its hard to keep up.
