My 1st choice is WMP10- has everything you mentioned + very simple + best audio quality. Other than that, audiograbber 1.83 + lame 3.9 encoder. This message was posted from a T610

Be sure to give Foobar2k a try, it has quite the cult following and lots of configurations.

I'm thinking of creating a copy of all my AAC files in the MP3 format as my contract is due to renewal and they're offering me a W550i for free - and as it doesn't support AAC I need to convert the files I have to MP3, and iTunes doesn't appear to be able to do that.

Is there a decent freeware programme out there for me to do that?

Or is there a workaround for getting AAC files to work on a W550i?

@Sammy_boy

The W550 DOES support AAC so you don't need to convert your files. (And anyway, iTunes CAN convert to MP3 if needed, just go to "Preferences > Advanced > Importing > Import using > MP3 Encoder" then right-click on tracks and choose "Convert selection to MP3" - easy!)

Look here

Multimedia Support:
Video: 3GPP (H.263), MP4
Image: GIF, JPEG, BMP, WBMP, PNG
Sound: MIDI(40), AMR, MP3, MP4, M4A, 3GP, AAC, XMF, WAV
Animation: SVG-T
Streaming: MPEG-4, H.263, AAC, AMR, MP4, 3GP

Ah yes, my mistake Jools! I could have sworn I'd read somewhere it didn't have AAC support.

Will find out soon, I've decided to renew my contract, and should be getting a nice new W550 in 3-5 working days!

I think I'll also suggest iTunes to my girlfriend's dad, it does more than I thought it did, and I'm pretty happy with the way it works
