@ indiannawaf: Yes, check this out...
I don't know what material that is made of but it's not dust ... having said that... dust can get stuck there so maybe u should try blowing at it.

But it it got dust on it he could blow away the dust.
I know this for a fact because a friend of mine had the same problem. Joystick did not respond well when pushed down. He took the phone apart... saw the "dust" and removed it with a pair of scissors
During that removal we saw it was not what we thought it was;) My phone got the same pillow.
Also I should say the joystick worked much better after that pillow was removed. But
probably have their reasons for putting it there at the first place.

hmmm, just a thoguht but why dont you just pull off the top of the joystick, I had a similar ptoblem on a couple of k700i's and you can pul off the top, then pull the crappy stuff off and bingo ur fone works(dont forget to put the joystick cap back on), and you dont need to take it to a service center

It is what is callled "nullermænd" in my country, I dont know the english word for it, its not dust as such but fnuggles, dirt, small hairstraws etc like in your pocket which gathers into a more solid form when it mixes with moist, static electricity etc. It looks and feels different for each K700 depending on how the composition of dirt, dust, fnuggles whatever got mixed up during time. It should be removed.
yes, you can take off the top of joystick cap for easier removal, just be carefull not to pull to hard, cause if the cap is a bit stuck you can damage the soildering when pulling it off.
