How would this work.

You have a 100m range and someone 90m away only has a 10m range.

Could you pick them up but they couldn't pick you up?

Or would you not be able to pick them up?

If its the first, then surely you could still BluJ them.

like most communications, a handshake is required before the actual purpose of the connection can continue.

This means the two devices must be talking to each other and hence your scenario would not work

having 100m bluetooth wouldnt be that great for bluejacking, there is no fun in bluejacking unless u see the victim.

Maybe with a telescopic sight like a sniper, you will use your phone to kill your victim

So it would have to actually find your phone rather than the signal your phone is giving off.

yes. if you notice, when you bluejack you see and choose the device name (or id sometimes when there is no name) that you wish to send the message to. In order for your phone to get the device name and id it must be able to respond

What's the difference btween 2.0 and 1.2 ??

About 1-2Mbps data transfer speed IF the chipset supports EDR!

Thats something you can bank on for data xfer to ur phone.

My Motorola V3vRazr have BT v1.2 class I (100m), but - the months I've had it I havn't seen anything more from that phone than from others. Guess there are limited devices out there with class I.

Havn't even found a good class I 'handsfree' device anywhere..

Think the wifi on the p990 will be of more help...
