relating to problems with autofocus, look what info I found in the manual of a Sony Cybershot 4 mpixel digital camera:
- The subject is distant from the camera and dark
- The contrast between the subject and its background is poor
- The subject is seen through glass, such as a window
- A fast-moving subject
- The subject has a reflection, such as that from a mirror, or there is a luminous body and a lustrous subject
- A flashing subject
- A backlit subject
So, all these are circumstances that could result in an unability to take a picture with autofocus. Hope this helps all of you who had problems with autofocus.

Had the same problem, always in poor light.
Then the autofocus on digicams generally can be caught out quite easily by certain conditions, so it's not really a K750-specific fault.
