I think SE should replace the flip for free or find a way to satisfy us because its not our fault and even if we put the phone in a tight jeans its not mentioned that we shouldnt do so, and all phones are working fine under such conditions

My keypad started to malfunction too, a couple of months ago.
It started to act weird, some numbers were hard to get, then it started mixing numbers (i pressed 5, got an 8...).
So i removed it, looked for replacements and thought they were too expensive. So i had to force myself to use it without the flip. After a while it was pretty OK, actually...

But - today, I brought the flip to my work. Disassembled it (have done that several times before, to clean it, but it didn't help), looked it over thoroughly under a microscope and found a conductor interruption (right word?)!
So, after some nice soldering and wire connections between those two points, i tried it and it seems to work just fine!
I think there was a little corrosion on the conductor, whitch had caused the interruption. May have been exposed to water or at least moist?

Anyways - if you have access to it, inspect the flip under a microscope! I thought i had looked it over, but i did miss that one fault.
Good luck!

@Codfather - Exact same problem here. I've found that rebooting the phone seems to fix it for a while at least, though it might be coincidence.
