what firmware version do you have
have update service in mine

try doing a master reset that normally resolves any problems like this

Doh, the vodafone one looks as if the menu is locked... typical!

So now what do i do..

It seems to check everytime it changes from 2G-3G and whenever i turn the phone on...

I bet you a huge sum of money that vodaphone will not be able to help you either as they will not know what you are on about.
If the Update Service menu is locked out then there's nothing you can do about it. Btw, there will be a charge on your bill for each time it chacks for an update.

This is highly annoying, I am waiting for someone to help me with DavinciTeam's flasher, so I can flash the handset and get it vanilla-rised.

Save messing about with all this rubbish!

voda probably set it to look for updates automatically so you will not be able to turn it off then
