I'm not into synchronising playlists. I'd rather manually copy the songs that I'm into. I use dbpoweramp for ripping aac since it has better compression for the same quality as itunes. So I don't really use any of the itunes stuff.
K750 (R1L firmware) can't read MP4 id tags, so I keep all my songs named as "artist-songname.mp4" anyway, so there is no point in ripping my music into a folder structure.

the latest version of disc2phone is actually quite good, especially if you have a large library of music - you can choose a folder (eg your itunes music folder), from which it randomly picks songs to put onto your memory stick - kind of like what the itunes does with the ipod shuffle.

I can't seem to find the latest disc2phone software! It has no update feature or anything like that on my version...

Hi,
I have some troubles with my W800i and upload MP3 files into it.
Disc2Phone program transfers to phone only a few MP3 files (if I select 3 files, only 2 are transferred into the phone or if I selected all 23 songs from My Music folder, only 6 or 7 have been transferred into the phone).
My computer has Windows XP Professional with SP2 (with all updates installed); I also have installed BitDefender antivirus; the firewall is the software integrated in Windows XP; but, both of them are disabled during file transfer.
I connect the phone to PC via supplied USB cable; I installed PC Suite 1.7.10 (only Image Editor and Sync Station components); before installing the PC Suite, I installed "W800_Signed_USB_Drivers".
The SE Call Center:
"We would like to suggest you, to open the Phone Monitor Options application and enable the COM ports which you have connected the USB Cable DCU-60, from MS Windows' Control Panel. Afterwards, from MS Windows' system choose the Hardware tab and Device Manager, right click on the DCU-60 (Sony Ericsson USB WMC Device Management, Sony Ericsson USB WMC OBEX Interface) and choose Port Settings. Make sure that the 'Bits per seconds' option is set at 115200 and the 'Flaw Control' option at Hardware.
Furthermore, we would like to suggest you to disable any firewall or antivirus applications while you are trying to transfer audio files
(mp3) to your Sony Ericsson W800i mobile phone."
And my answer:
"I've followed your instruction strictly. Unfortunately, the same problem appears: from 10 MP3 files transferred, I found only 1 (one) transferred into the phone.
But, during transfer, I kept "music" folder from W800i opened and I saw how all 10 files have been transferred. After removing the DCU-60 cable and reconnecting it, surprise: when opened the 'music' folder in the phone, only one file was there..."
Some suggestions?

Thank you,
I updated the firmware (to R1AA008) and now the phone works just perfect with Disc2Phone.
Have a nice week-end!

Sorry to kick a rather old topic, but is it possible with disc2phone to use your own codecs? I really want to use LAME to enncode my MP3's... and furthermore: I read it was possible to convert to aac...is that so? How?

yes it sure is.... but the media player wont pick up the mp3s as they are stored in the mp3 folder and the media player on the d750i and k750i doesnt pick them up from tha folder... lol
try debranding to the w800i fw an then it work ok
thats bull crap , ive tried it on k750i firmware on a k750i and it worked fien , youve just gotta know how to structure the folders
eg: ARTIST(eg:50cent) , -> ALBUM(eg: the massacre) -> SONGS (eg: piggy bank.mp3).

they changed it to 'music' because the latest version of disc2phone supports aac/mp4 as well. aac files are not mp3's, hence the change in name.
Actually, it's still uses the mp3 folder if your memory stick already uses the mp3 folder. Problem with using AAC is that it can't edit id tags, so music without tags get's put in folder /music/aac (instead of /artist/album), this is where the confusion lies.
Use itunes to update tags and make playlists with your songs. Then if you export the playlist to an xml file, you can import that playlist into disc2phone and transfer it to the phone. Just drag the itunes playlist xml file into the disc2phone transfer list window and click transfer . Easy as pie.
Actually, though disc2phone is limited, what it does it does well. It needs tag editing and the ability to rip aac and then itunes wouldn't be needed at all. I use dbpoweramp for ripping aac so it's only the tag editing that keeps me using itunes. It's a real shame that you can't edit tags in disc2phone.
Some other features for example the ability to change the default source location, ability to "transfer" to a folder as well as removeable devices, and other bit's and pieces would be nice.
