well it seems that it is trying to connect... but it got timeout coz maybe theres no respond from ur router or pc... try checking in ur pc if there any pairing or something... if u look at ur psp... it will show u wifi connecting does have wep security or not... frm there u'll know if its the wep security or what i've stated above..

right, got one of my kids PSP's here
go to the bottom option, network settings and press O
choose infrastructure mode press O
press O to accept the connection name
here you can now press O to edit the connection name so do that if you wish
next press right arrow where you get a choice to scan, enter manually or automatic. If you router is broadcasting its SSID then you can use scan otherwise choose manual.
If you chose automatic then pick the SSID from the list (probably only one there) otherwise enter it manually and press right arrow
now you have a screen where you can choose WEP and press right arrow again and then its in here where you enter the WEP key. I don't actually see a setting where you can choose 65, 128 or 256kbit so I assume its fixed at 128kbit since thats what I use on my router and it works
go through that lot again and let us know how you go!
be sure to check that the router isn't setup to only allow connection from specified max address and if it is then you'll need to add yours into the router. The strange thing about that is that I haven't found a place on the PSP where it tells you the MAC address so I had to get my router to tell me what it was from the connected devices
good luck!

Well I've got the Wifi working on another network, so I guess I must have the wrong WEP key, but I don't see how...
This is very frustrating.
Thanks for trying to help masseur, much appreciated
Cheers

I had luck by turning off my WEP (I've got MAC address filtering on) then connecting so the DHCP or whatever it is called gave my PSP an IP address. Then I turned the WEP back on and from there it's been perfect. I had to do the same thing with my iPlayer box too.
