This is for masseur
You said you've had a brief contact with p990.
Is it possible to taking the keypad off? If yes, then would the build in keyboard withstand the exposure if the keypad removed ? Lastly, when you hold it, is it good quality buid in keyboard ? thanks before.

yes, you can take the keypad (flip) off. You can see that in the
P990 product page
I saw no reason to doubt the quality of the build, and it did feel good quality in my hand, but time is what is needed before such a topic canbe confirmed. I remember the P900 was good build (apatr from the usual battery compartment creaks) but time soon showed that cnostant flipping the keyboard cause cracks in the housing where the keyboard hit the housing
so we'll have to wait and see about that

No dont get me wrong I am not saying the 990 is not a nice device, its very good infact, all I'm saying is the Pxxx design was the charm & innovation other the difference between Pxxx & other PPC device lessen. Also that they could have added this model for the blackberry kindof users & a larger screen without qwerty as otherwise put a slider keyboard or something. Its really the design trend of pxxx is broken of which many of you are fans surely. The busines elite kindof...
@adnhk1: Ya I know its like I was saying how it should have been & besides the qwerty everthing lives up.
Its like I loved SE for the innovation factor & being ahead not follow the leader & ape the crowd attitude..thats all IMHO ofcourse. I am sure many will enjoy the 990 ofcourse...

I wished they had made the P990 smaller!!!
That would have been so nice - I have a P900 now and I think it's the best phone I have ever had and the main reason why I want to change is because it's too big. That and my hunger for new tecnology ofcourse...
I'm actually considering a Qtek 8310 - I use my P900 as my calender and therefore it's great with a touchscreen, but with a joystick you get the same functions and a smaller phone you easily can have in your jean-pockets...
Please convince me - why should I buy the P990...?ŋ?

Exactly..either a bigger screen or slimmer / smaller design that would be good too but alas....
Also the memory / ram is what I would call similar or in line with similar products - I mean why do all companies leave us power hungry..They should learn something from dualcor page, that definately is the future. I am sure the new operating system / graphics will take its toll on the speed...
Either compete with gates with your speciality or leave it to Nokia to do that - as it is gates & nokia are up with arms...

I wasn't expecting half of the things I've found in the p990i. I'm waiting for its launch.

Biggest mistake has got to be reverting to a 3-way jog dial. Surely nobody requested that?!

The problem with this kind of device is that itīs impossible to make everyone happy.
Someone wantīs it smaller, nextone wantīs a bigger keyboard, bigger screen, more memory, faster cpu, longer battery life, 5-way jogdial, better gaming possibilitys, louder sound so they can arrange disco with just the 990 and donīt need to bring several speakers.
And the list can be endless.

I think a VGA (640x480) screen is an overkill for a PDA-phone like this.
