BT 2 is 100 metres with the correct protocol. Hmm will see if I can find an old article I read about this. Might get back... if I remember to check this thread again! =)

can someone point me to where it officially says the P990 supports bluetooth 2? I've checked the press release and product pages again and don't see that and unfortunately we're still waiting for the whitepaper!

a few people say the Z1010 is capably of 100m but I have never read that anyone has ever acheived that and the latest whitepaper for the Z1010 says 10-20m. Here is an extract from that whitepaper
in regards to the P990, on the
specification page if you click bluetooth it says 10m as shown here

The thing is, that the most applications can send up to about 10m. But the recievers can recieve signals up to about 100m.
@bluetooth.com:
Range
The operating range depends on the device class:
* Class 3 radios – have a range of up to 1 meter or 3 feet
* Class 2 radios – most commonly found in mobile devices – have a range of 10 meters or 30 feet
* Class 1 radios – used primarily in industrial use cases – have a range of 100 meters or 300 feet
And btw, I wouldn't want a phone that can send 100m.
