Bl**dy hell , I say if someone wants anything of mine they can have it, if they are trying to rob me, theres too many crazy people who won't hesitate to kill you over nothing (eg: that Lawyer walking home the other week from the tube station). What an ordeal 2 ribs broken, nothing I own is worth more than my life. One time a guy was trying to rob me with a sizeable knife and I just said look whatever you want from me, you can have it. He said I want a note. So I just took out my wallet and said do you want the whole wallet? Suprisingly he said no, so I just gave him ten quid and he ran off. I consider myself lucky in that situation.

Yeah I wouldn't give in, and never have. 4 People have tried to rob me since the summer, and they got nothing more off me than a whip around the face with a 21" steel baton.

I agree it is more favourable fight back if you value your posessions more than your own life or if the situation is such that your chances of coming out on top are significantly higher. Personally I wouldn't die standing...I would rather try and live by complying since people will miss me when I'm gone or it would cause more grief to them to find me in hospital. I wouldn't want to die over a phone or some money. I know too many people who can handle themselves pretty well on their own, that have just been beaten badly (one partially blinded) by groups of idiots over wallets, watches and phones.

I know what your saying, but it's not in some people's nature to let something like that go, I guess they have too much pride. It's the principle of the thing, I couldn't care less if they wer taking £1000 from me or £5, the fact is they are EASILY taking something from me that I worked HARD for.
A boy at my school was stabbed 3 times for not giving up one of his cigarettes to a group of kids after school, which is stupid, I mean he could've so easily have given a few up and not made a financial or sentimental loss, but I guess he just stood by his first answer of "No"
I'd rather take a beating and know I did everything I could to stop it from happening, then just let it happen and make it easier for theives, I mean it would only encourage them.

SOrry to hear this dude, i got my phone stolen a few years ego too, well about 5 years ego now i think and my ipod recenty.
BTW i found a phones yesterday in a club i was at, i picked it up. looked at the phones number incase it was any1 i new and then handed it to the front desk. Hope the person asked for it on the way home.
