Those phones wont come to the european market. They were made for the asian market, so those in this forom who seems to worry that SonyEricsson will start developing phones like that for the european market. donīt worry!

But Sonyericcsons Japanese operation HAS released handsets since the merger, meaning deals with networks are still in place. They have released 2 handsets for KDDI/AU, the C1002S and the A3014S. There is still no adequate reason why they have not released a camera phone for DoCoMo's i-shot service (So251i?), or for AU's CDMA 1x service.

We will be having phones like those before the end of this month. The Panasonic GD-87 (brilliant) and one from Sharp. Both have cameras and 65k colours unlike Nokia's 4096 and screens no smaller (bigger in the case of the Panasonic, in resolution as well) than the Nokia 7650.

Although they will not be W-CDMA, they will be GSM/GPRS. The Japanese phones are W-CDMA only.
You will see U.K. operators moving away from generic phones that can be used by all operators, to operator specific machines that are especially tuned to the requirements of an operator. Making (like Japan) services more reliable because it will be specifically programmed to the operator's hardware.

DoCoMo's I-mode is already available in some countries in Europe, and will soon be available in the US through AT&T wireless.
The handsets pictured in this thread are large, ugly, and incompatible but functionally superior. We have very similar products now in the US being offered through Sprint PCS. Here are the specs for one of the new ones which can be bought quite cheaply at Radio Shack:

@shawnmccall: We certainly won't have PDC-P based I-mode like in Japan any time soon, but we aren't nearly as far away from seeing providors with the capability to offer I-mode content to handsets which already support cHTML (like the one listed above). I-mode applications are even suitable to be run over existing GPRS networks, which is how carriers in Europe have been able to move to this technology so quickly. Basically, I-mode is more of a content protocol than it is a network protocol, like WCDMA.

aiyo.....alright i had made my decision!
I just sold my T68i and WAS planning to go for the cheaper version T300 and maybe change to P800 later but then after seeing all these mobile phones,i decided not to. Will stick to my panasonic GD75 first until the Panasonic GD87/ SE P800 is released.........
All these mobiles makes me think that investing on T300 seems unworthy since after maybe a couple of months,a whole new range of mobiles with better colours ,J2ME and with digicam will be rushing out.
Cool phones and thanks guys for providing the fantastic pictures!
