So if one wants to upgrade, you'd have to port your phone number each time onto the new phone's glued-in SIM,... if you don't fancy giving a new number to all your contacts each time you get a new 3 PAYG phone.....ridiculous!

O2 did something similar yrs ago when they were Cellnet, there PAYG sims were locked to the phones preventing ppl from using them in other phones.

And looks like they wont be too bothered? Because obviously if the sim is mean't to stay in their forever, they should just use CDMA?
