Apple are good with computers, but too snotty over iPods.. I lost alot of faith as a Mac Girl after the service I got over my iPod.

Hmmm very odd, due to the nature of what I do I deal with apple tons and lots of other companies such as sony etc, and gota say apples ipod service is brilliant, only once they let me dwon, and they sorted it out within a day anyway. I was very impressed with them (I have used the ipod service im geussing 50+ times since the start of the year)

Sony on the other had were piss poor, I have tried to get a laptop fixed under my name (it was registered to me etc) but they wernt having it, in the end I had to send copies of all the reciepts off to their uk office for checking it took about 3 weeks just for a reply, though in the end I had it sorted out.

Now that you mentioned it, this one time, I had just purchased a laptop, windows pre-loaded. Needed to activate, so I called up this toll-free 1-600 number, the lady asked me for the activation code, i started telling her, one digit at a time, so as not to give her a wrong digit, and she snapped at me, said 'Sir, atleast give me 4 digits together', I simply told her that 'Customers should be treated with more respect, and I hope this call is being recorded, cause I am unhappy by this treatment', I called back, and someone else picked up, and it was all smooth from there on.

yeah it is really annoying to get one digit at a time.. it is nicer to get 4 digits at a time... (like when u update CC) when u get one digit at a time, there is a chance u might go wrong, and with 4 digits u know for sure where u went wrong instead of going thru all the 16 digits one at a time.

Earlier this year my Apple Mighty Mouse developed a fault. I phoned Apple, (on a Sunday!) and the bloke arranged for a replacement.

The new mouse arrived via DHL from the Netherlands, on Tuesday! The cost of the delivery was probably more than the value of the mouse! Then DHL came back the next day to collect the faulty mouse.

I thought this was very good service. Especially for a £30 mouse...

I've heard nothing concrete - just rumours! I'm sure they will release one at some point, its the next logical step, but when is anyone's guess!
