ehhm max thats not exactly correct, i used my old p900 to control an old pioneer amplifier for around five metres, i could maybe have used it even further away but it was to hard to aim (the beam is pretty narrow) and the stairs to the second floor blocked me from getting further away

As I said, I had read it but not actually had an opportunity to test it myself. That's good to know it has a reasonable range.
My K750 I have tested (for Ir range) and it is barely half a metre (pc to phone or phone to phone).

Hi, Are you sure about that, My Palm T3 can also only link with my noteboof up to about 1m MAX but works fine as a TV remote up to about 5m as it only has to send and not receive when changing channel.
