The problem is my o2 deal is far better than the Vodafone one and they don't like the Voda branding at all. It spoil the look and the functioning of the phone.

@ryanmachine

They are fully branded internally and externally and locked.

@alex

Exactly the same feeling as you, but I just want the phone, davinci will always be on hand in the coming weeks I suppose

@Coxy, u should always ask for the Pac code and get them to give u like 500 minutes and some texts between £15 - £20 and of course the W810i for free!

@ ryanmachin: I know it make good business sense to get new connections but, why risk loosing your existing customers?

@alexho: whats your o2 deal?

and as coxy says the branding could be remove with a simple firmware flash, and as for the external branding its only the walkman logo on the front which has been changed to a vodafone logo, so that can be easily switched with a standard walkman logo at some point

I think O2 can put a deal on your account which you can then pick up from store. Ask if they can on the phone.

But why go to the hassle of waiting til the generic firmware is out via 3rd parties and paying for this service as well, and also removing the vodafone logo. O2 seem to be doing better deals at the moment anyway. I was also just saying that mobile companies DO use these tactics regarding saving the handsets for new contracts, i wasnt saying it was a GOOD thing And if existing customers want to upgrade as soon as the phone is released then they have to work a little harder ie requesting PAC code etc

@Superluminova, the deal was suppose to be the phone free, 500 anytime minutes and 150 texts for £20 a month but they now said i have to pay £50 for the phone and still no sight of the phone so i asked for the PAC code already!
