I got one from ebay for £7 and if it is a fake I certainily can not tell from the build quality and sound quality.

That little tag can be faked too. I have a couple of such earphones, the tag looks OK, and it came with three sets of earbuds, and it came in a platic wrapping that looked vey much SonyEricsson original, with instructions leaflet and all, and I bought it in a store that I wold not suspect of selling non-original parts, but if I compare the earphones with the ones that came with my daughter's W300, I notice that the cables are much stiffer on my earplugs than on hers, which is much more flexible. THerefore, I'm beginning to suspect that mine are not original after all, or maybe they just came from a bad batch. Like with the firmware releases, there probably exists a constant product development and improvement on hardware like earplugs as well.

This is definitely fake, i bought one for almost the same price price too and it didnt come in some plastic cover like how u got it, it came in packing which was exactly like SE's packaging.... too late i found out it was fake only after testing it and hearing the audio quality.
The ear plugs were also a bit stiff. and the internal wiring was same as the pics you've posted.
