I think for a

done better job speperating EDGE and UTMS. As i don't have UTMS in my country (BANGLADESH) but EDGE, so I didn't wanna end up with the production cost of UTMS but only EDGE. From the countries having both facilities i guess it'ld b better if there were another model which has both facilities though. Would be a gr8 market strategy, I guess.

i have no need for either 3g or edge, so because the k790 didn't have 3g but edge instead, it was bound to be cheaper, meaning i would have prefered to buy the 790 over the 800. also because i am an electronics and gadgets clean and protection freak, it just means more maintaining and worrying about the front unprotected lense.
Actually they were going to be the same price. Well according to Mobile Review anyway

But what about the operators, who don't use 3G like T-mobile in UK? or a user who don't want to use 3G but GSM or normal phone?

Then disable the 3g.And T Mobile do use 3g in the uk.
Edge is useless here. It would be nice if we had edge and 3g like in SA.
Price wise i think it will be around 350-400 euros

Hi all in the latest CPW mag if you look under price plans it does appear Virgin are about to start selling 3G phones as they have prices for video calling and 3G data services. If this turns out to be true this will be great as not only do Virgin have competitive prices on talk planes but the last phone i got from them was not only unlocked to all networks but was also unbranded no network rubbish on the phone only Virgin extras on the Sim card. This is where i am hoping to get my next phone an unbranded M600 from, well at least i hope so.

^ thanks for that...
thats great news, and yeah virgin are very good when it comes to not branding all of their phones, hardly any, if any in fact. my k750 that i bought from them is unbranded, sure i do have a virgin extras feature in the entertainment menu, but thats it, my sisters orange sim works with it and so does my dads o2 sim. unlike a lot of the other networks virgin don't mess around with the menu's like vodafone do for example. personally thats really good news for me since i'm hoping to get the k800, and if virgin are going to start using 3g soon, i will be able to get the full use out of my new phone.
