the phone may be new but the software it uses isnt.
also just because your phone crashes doesnt mean theres an issue with the model as a whole. stuff does go wrong even with the best technologies. maybe you just got a duff handset, get a replacement and see how that goes before judging SE as a whole.

that also depends on what you install to your phone. some files you transfered might cause that.
i've got 3 k750i replaced for me, finally knowing that my ms duo is incompatible. dunno whether is a high speed sony ones or some of the incompatible files.
