QuickOffice is not a production quality application suite and I'd love to speak to the genius from SE who decided to put it in the P910's ROM. It's mere existence in the phones ROM creates an impression that MS office documents can be read and updated - which is simply not true. SE should have filled the ROM space with something more worthwhile, like air for example

In fact Quickoffice is so bad, I was happy to spend $50 purchasing Documents to Go.
I am astonished that SE have decided to put Quickoffice on the P990 as well. Rubbish software like only serves to devalue the phone as a whole. Better off to either have nothing or install something that actually works.
I don't normally write such negative emails, but then again I can't remember getting as angry with any software as I did everytime I used Quickoffice. How anyone signed off such software is a mystery to me - and I work in the IT industry ...

I agree entirely with you arabbitte. I had a fully version from a long time back, but I think it was badly architected from the beginning & should be re-written (I too work in IT

).
Commercially it was a great move to get their software onto the ROM, but their support has always been atrocious. I remember I spent 4 weeks (!!!) asking them to send me the Excel plugin for W2000 after having changed my laptop - their webpage download was not working, and they have a yahoo group (?!?) where you can see just how upset users are, independently of the platform they are using. I think they were bought out a couple of years ago, and they haven't got over it yet...
They were the first to market, but after a while (when a good competitor comes along) that means very little.
I only have praise for the dataviz team: very reponsive, quickly sorted out a couple of bugs for me, and they got my money as a result!
