Company of heroes is absolutely brilliant and a definite have for any RTS player.
Dawn of War: Dark Crusade is also not too bad if you're a fan of the dawn of war series, though can become a little tiresome.
Supreme Commander when it comes out should be great, though if you weren't a fan of total annihilation then maybe not too great.

Yeah Company of Heroes is one hell of a game, though unfortunately for many players just a bit too much for their computers. On maximum settings the game is absolutely awesome.
Company of Heroes is a very complex game, but in time it will begin to feel easier, though if someone were to say that they find this game 'easy' on any difficulty setting I wouldn't believe them, this game may become easier but not easy, if you get my drift lol.
Rushing is a great tactic as this can really put pressure on the enemy/ies, though you'll need to make sure you can't be flanked and while your up busy on the front line, the enemy is having tea at your base. Defensive is how I tend to play, build and build and build both defences and your army, taking every attack that comes, counter striking them whenever possible but making sure that your front line is almost instant backed up by a second and thrid and so on.
Also, you probably know but online multiplayer is great, though expect online players to use the rush tactic almost 100% of the time, and so learning to counter that by rushing them also, making sure at the same time that your keeping an even border line across the battlefield.
As well as in multiplayer, in the skirmish custom battles in single player you can also play as the Axis as well, which is quite fun since they upgrade and basically do things a lot differently than when playing as the Allies.
Make sure that you don't waste valuable resources on upgrades that your just not going to use, also making sure that you do aim to capture land areas that contain resources, as ecspecially late in a round when the most powerful of infantry, vehicles and powers are being used, you can very quickly find that you are out of resources.
Definately practice in skirmish games before doing the campaign as this will make it easier, give you the knowledge you need, doing the tutorial is of great help and I very much recommend it even if you are experienced with strategy games. Multiplayer, don't even think about it until you know what your doing lol, otherwise your experience won't be very pleasant.
Another little thing, though I'm not sure if it works with the lower graphical settings, is that in high medium settings anyway, the graphics of this game really show with the explosions and when your men get hit by a mine, tank, bomb or cannon etc, limbs like to often fly off. I like it, adds that brutal and cruel realism aspect to the game.
Anyway, hope I helped a bit.
Enjoy the game!

Pincer movements or having 2 forces can also pay off to you as well alot in the campaign.
Making use of your command point abilities will absolutely save your neck, and in other missions can be quite unnecessary.
I found keeping groups of: infantry, Tanks, engineers
allowed me to control what I was doing better. Engineers are quite robust as well, get a couple of them out at the beginning. On later missions where you need repairs, a group of 3 engineer units (9 in total) can reair units more than adequately.
Not rushing in even if you think you have superior firepower pays off well as well, take the time to hold command, fuel and ammo points until you have fortified them, then move on.
Snipers can be your friend
Off screen artillery is nifty, and also life saving, but make sure you have the ammo to use it.
If the enemy has weapons that infantry are controlling, snipe or flame tank the infanty and then you can take them over yourself, there's a couple of missions where this can be really fun.

You have to capture the little areas on the map with your troops to gain the resource that that area provides, indicated by the small signs on the "flag".
