I personally set to these settings for best PQ and SQ:
Landscape mode, UNCHECKED Reduce Frames
XVid encoder: 224kbps
Audio Frequency 22050Hz @ 128kbps Stereo
Note the above audio frequency. 22.1KHz is the higest we can go as anything above that will cause severe stuttering effect. We have fed back to LCG but they claimed 44.1Khz may be too high for all devices
Alternatively, for better encoding quality in terms of PQ, you may try out PocketDivx. It takes a longer time to encode but produces better quality videos. Of course, it is free:

Re question 2 you need Tom Tom Mobile for UIQ and there are good instructions of what you need to do to transfer the files to your MS.
Question 4 as already answered you should use the Opera browser rather than the mini version.

ok well i have downloaded the correct version of opera, and I used their website to get the correct GPRS settings which were sent to me by 02, but I still cant get on the internet with opera. It asks me which connection to use i select the 02 GPRS setting and then it sends 1 byte of data every 10 seconds or something but nothing happens it hangs. The internet browser supplied by SE works and I can get on the net with that, any ideas whats going on?
I think i am going to use lathe to encode my vids as smartmovie messes up the sound completly, it plays at hlaf the speed as if a record is turning much slower than it ought to. ne ideas?
