The idea is good but usability is least (like the ftp server done in java),how much people can afford to access a server with a maximum of 384kbs?
and secondly there might be problems with the ports ,because may be a firewall in your operators gprs server(the one which throttles) can defenitley make me think that its not a practical idea,
though in future it might be useful with high speed connections.

On uiq, we got Prosit Mobile server, and it works. You can combine it with dyndns app available and you got a tiny web server with a dns name.?LoL

I am with a P910i, and seeing this article, I installed the Prosit Mobile server. It works like a charm. I got the Dyndns as well, so I now have the whole set. My qestion might be silly, but here it goes anyways.
What would be some tasks this server would be useful for? I was thinking, if my users need a file immediately, I could put it online for them to download, but there is email for that, and much easier. (I am an IT manager, that is why I refer to "My users")
What else can you think of in which this would be helpful?
BTW, I tried to put a PDF file in my HTML directory on the phone, and I renamed it PDF1, so the PC wouldnt try to open it, but hopefuly downloaded it instead, and BINGO, it could get it downloaded. So I guess this 40KB worth of application is not a very bad one after all, I just need to find some useful tasks for it.
Thanks for any comments,
Ben
