the news is just getting worse. Our local broadsheet down here (Brisbane's Courier Mail) has just downgraded to a tabloid - but they are calling it a "new compact format". Wank on.
Many of their reporters can't spell and have no knowledge of grammer, and the proof readers seem to run spell checks and nothing more. TV news is just sensational drivel.
It would be crushingly depressing if there weren't so many good sources of current news on the internet
oops - had to edit my grammer

I've heard a lot of bad things about Fox news but never seen it, not sure I want to! The BBC are generally not biased, though somtimes I do pick up a bit of a hint of bias at times! I guess most news sources have a bit of bias in them, which is why it's important to get news from a few different ones

I have to laugh at anyone that takes fox news seriously.. It's so OBVIOUSLY bias it's not funny. But it is as meths said. Having said that I would sooner have BBC news > Fashion TV > CNN > most anything else..
CNN whilst not as nifty as the BBC can be quite entertaining too.
I'm sure there's other american news networks that are slanted the opposite way to Fox, it all evens out. US programming doesn't take their own networks seriously (Simpsons, Letterman, etc) so at best watch fox for its comedy aspects which are many fold. You could always email in an opinion

Why do Fox News want to scare the American public for? Is it to control them, to create fear and say 'we as a goverment can protect you if you back us'
This whole nuclear issue there on about in one video and how America can come under attack from the North Koreons, the Russians or even the Lebanise in the near future. I guess thats there justification for backing Israel and not calling for an immediate cease fire. And what does the British do as a goverment, follow the leader...

Fox News is the worst example of puppet news channel you can find although there are very few news organisations that will report and take a neutral stance.
The best news channels are the ones who include informed opinion and debate from those in the know from both ends of the spectrum.
BBC World, I would trust more than any, although I would still have to get to grips with both side of any story in order to form an opinion, and things seem to be happening - and are reported on - so fast these days its getting harder to keep up with developments.
I also find english speaking foreign news websites are invaluable for getting a good take on how the local populations are affected.

I have no problem with Fox News. Granted, I only get to see the 'Fox and Friends' show which is broadcast on Prime TV in the early hours here in NZ so I can make no comment on Cavuto or Hanetty etc.
Fox do get to interview the inportant people involved in the issues, unlike the NZ media who simply interview other journalists. How else can they ensure to get a left-biased opinion.
I think it's significant that the most vehement anti-Fox News opinions here are also well known anti-Bush/America/Israel apologists.
Hardly suprising really...

Why ain't Fox News saying bad things about China and it's human rights record? Probably because Rupert Murdoch owns media interests in that country and he won't want to anger the communists. It happened several yrs ago when News Corp removed BBC World from it's channel line-up on the Star network.

@Brix25
You hit the nail on the head. Fox News won't broadcast bad news if it goes against the political grain of the owner(s) / shareholders.
