Why is the Catholic Church so resistant to the idea that Jesus may have been married and had child/ren?

Because he is depicted as being perfect, being a virgin, and being the son of God. He wouldn't taint himself with imperfect humans that way. Also, look up Nephilim and then decide if they are justified in their opposition to Jesus having children, if that fable is anything to go by.

I would say the church thought that if jesus had a child then he will be the next leader ..... So they tried to kill the child.....Or his blood line......!

But the church believes Jesus has no bloodline, because he isn't human! He is no mere man, he is the son of God.

so what do you think that the book is a suspense thriller or it has got some reality in it..... Why dont the church give answers instead of trying to ban it .....Nothing can be covered for infinite time ......

Sorry I am not Christian.. But then hasnt the Church and otherz, in not so many words told it to be 'not the truth' ? And moreover would you, even if something is true, accept it as such if it goes contrary to ur objectives, needs etc.. Its like a poor hungry child stealing bread from a rich guy or a Robinhood.. doing AND believing (justifing even more) that their TRUTH is "the" Truth This message was posted from a S700

When we say "the church" tries to get the book/movie banned, I take it that the term is used in a generalized sense. I am not only a Christian, but an ordained clergyman; yet myself and others I know do not believe the work should be banned. I say "Jesus is Lord", and someone else says "No; he was a drunk". It would be absurd if my response is, "Shut him up!" Let him have his say-so. Yes; I firmly uphold the traditional line that Jesus was born of a virgin and died a virgin Himself, I leave the writer to his ideas.

I don't see what the furore over the work is. Its a work of fiction that's cleverly woven around a few historical figures. Why anyone would want to take it as a point of reference beats me.

I believe all about what is written in the book - The Davinci Code: 101% ! Who knows 'one' of 'us' here (probably from France) is the descendant of Jesus Christ
