Yeah, its a little stupid but thats the way manufacturers make money. Releasing two(same platform) allmost feature same models for different markets depending on network technologies. @sasha-se Sta si rasprico na srpskom kad je oficial engleski, hehe. This message was posted from a Nokia

I agree about the Edge, it should be present in the K800i. Just a cheap move to leave it out really.

Well, as a heads up if someone wants a K790i, i have two available...

Will be putting a thread up about it soon.

They are proto's, I have photo's etc...

If people want to make offers before I put them up for sale, feel free.

Cheers. Daz.

They should have made the K800 with EDGE, and sold it across Europe. Most places around there that currenlty don't have 3g have at least 2 or 2.5G (EDGE). The K790 makes sense for the US, where we have completely different frequency 3G (1900 HSDPA/UMTS) in limited cities and EDGE pretty much everywhere.

EDGE is more akin to 2.75G, GPRS is 2.5G.

The really big markets in Europe have UMTS networks e.g. the UK, Germany, Italy, etc. Hence it makes sense for SE to release the K800 in Europe because most European customers can make use of its 3G features.

I will be putting them up in the trade forum at some point. And probably on eBay at the same time. But i'll be looking for bids starting around £400... (I can't actually remember how much they're costing me, so I can't say that will be the starting price for sure.)

Cheers, Daz.

Colombia on the other hand will.

But THIS means NOTHING because the K750i was on Colombia's webssite; and I had to get mine by internet because all of the operators "CONSIDERED" that selling it wasn't a good move

GOOD to for their phones
BAD to all operators that force us to buy what they want

P.S. in Colombia the "latest" phone is the Z530i according to our operators. What do you think???

hmmm...id pay 400 pound; are they near-production ('Cybershot' plaque, or printed on the bezel?), and are they quad-band?
