i used to have real problems sleeping when i was younger but i havent had these for over 3 years now

I found that doing teh followig always sent me off to sleep:

(right you gotta try and picture this in your head, not think deeply about it, think of it as if you were watching it - hope you know what i mean)...

(description of environment - night time, dark but street lite up from street lamps.... heavy snow falling.....)

''''But basically i would imagine myself walking downa real long road, snow falling heavily (you feel cold but not freezing).... youre just wishing you could lay down and sleep.......

.....Then you see a billboard so you go around the back and theres a section on the floor thats been sheltered by teh board.... You lay there (wheres theres no snow) and feel the floor (un-wet etc). You can see back up the road where the snow is still falling heavily and you thinkin to yourself how glad you are that youre warm and dry now..... '''

as wierd as that is mate it really helped me - think it took away from what i really had on my mind and helped me to sleep coz i was thinking about something warm, something tiresome, something comfortable...

hope this helps as counting sheep really didnt for me (some of those lil beggers didnt jump the fence just walkedd around..... mofos.. dont they realise they aint helping )

from what i gather most of insomia is psycolodgical

Scientists have proven using a pc or playin computer games is a big cause of insomnia-so maybe cut down on there along with watchin tv to late might help. It's something to do with your eyes pick up the flickering screen whilst your subconscience doesn't therefore you don't know It's happening. This in turn creates excess brain activity and keeps you awake! Then again they maybe wrong! This message was posted from a Nokia

and in all fairness it only takes you 2 mins.....

a good nights sleep is SO important, your body makes 90% of its cell repairs while you sleep.

(try smoking a big spiff, about an hour before bed time) avoid eating any food and dont consume any caffiene after 6pm.

lol, seriously though when you sleep, your brain stores away what youve learnt that day, if you dont sleep, your not syncronising the information away in your brain!

what about excersize, go for a long bike ride or an hour swim etc, that should help you sleep.

also, for revision, do a timetable (AND STICK TO IT!) also take a 5 min break every 20 mins......
8-10 Chill
10-12 revise
12-2 eat/chill
2-4 revise..... etc

some good advise there batesie

This may come across as a joke but if you think about it theres a bit of truth here - if you got a lady friend, try and get some action before bed, dont know about others but there aint many people who feel wide awake after such an 'event'
