I had that problem too, every month lately. When the number is getting closer to 1000 SMS's, the phone won't show them. A reboot is required to make them pop up in the inbox. Can't tell if it's always been like this or if it's a newly discovered bug due to the old firmware of mine. (Haven't sent the 1400 SMS's I send per month earlier in my life
)
Just throw it all away and it'll work fine again. You can use Best Message Storer to back 'em up to a textfile and transfer to your computer if you want to save them.
Maybe you're in love? That usually pumps the SMS rate up *a lot*.

Just look up over the net a program called Storing Manager and use it to copy ur sms as .txt - that why u have a Symbian phone to use the hundreds of tools available over the net. It's easier than what happens to u right now.
