> K800i USB transfer speed

Buy a card reader it work really fast. And yesy use the adapter to convert MM to stand MS.
30mb in 1.40 Min -> 55.55555 minutes to fill 1Gig.
Thats really awful.

Ok, didn't know that. So why use USB2 if the speed is the same as 1.1?
Anyhow, I bought a 1 GB card today and have just finnished testing transfer speeds. First I tried with my iPod Nano and I got 9,05 MB/sec.
I disconnected the Nano and plugged in the K800i in the same port, and I got 383 k/sec.
The speeds are the average speed when transferring a 144,9 MB file.

Unfortunately, using USB2.0 logo is only for pure marketing purpose, I'm wandering what kind of micro controller SE are using in their phones, it must be ages old, really shame and they sold us a story about new connector because of better speed transfers, can someone with new Nokia, Samsung,Motorola test their USB speed ?

The new connector is faster than the old connector. about 4-5 times faster. I get that K800 isn't USB 2.0 HIGH SPEED capable, but I'd still rather the fastport speed than the old style connector speed.
And they aren't using old micro-controller's - they have simply elected not to support USB 2.0 High Speed. This is to keep prices down.
I agree it sucks that K800 isn't USB 2 High Speed, but let's get the fact's straight about connector speeds. SE never said the fastport supported USB 2.0 High Speed transfers, they just said it was faster than the old style..

well i thot that with USB2.0 advantage you dont need to install the drivers to make software work.
with the K750i u need to install about 5 different drivers before the phone can start transfering stuff.
in K800 i guess its just plug it and there u get the drive.

no, there is a bit of a misunderstanding here. K750 and K800 are both usb 2.0 compatible. Neither support High Speed usb 2.0
K750 doesn't support mass storage unless drivers are installed (ie: it's not mass storage compliant out of the box). I'm not sure if K800 does or not.
The other drivers windows installs are nothing to do with mass storage. They are modem drivers, obex drivers etc.

thats right, modem and obex drivers, but then again will it work with the mass storage drivers alone? you can do away with modem, but then again i guess obex should be present for the file transfer to happen. i dont think u need to instal drivers for the k800. not sure about it though.

Thinking about that this is a mobilephone where low power consumption is a must, i don't think that 300 Kb is that bad at all. If you need more speed then buy a cardreader - they are very cheap.
I think you have mistaken B(yte) for b(it).
USB supports three transfer rates
Code:
A Low Speed rate of 1.5 Mbit/s (183 KiB/s) that is mostly used for Human Interface Devices (HID) such as keyboards, mouse and joysticks.
A Full Speed rate (same as usb 1.1 speed) of 12 Mbit/s (1.4 MiB/s). Full Speed was the fastest rate before the USB 2.0 specification and many devices fall back to Full Speed. Full Speed devices divide the USB bandwidth between them in a first-come first-served basis and it is not uncommon to run out of bandwidth with several isochronous devices. All USB Hubs support Full Speed.
A Hi-Speed rate of 480 Mbit/s (57 MiB/s).
