Just place your phone a bit farther (1 meter or so) and it shouldnīt be a problem... Laying phone on the HDD can affect HDD heads so they can damage the plates, thatīs logical..

I've used a magnetic dashboard holder for a couple of years on several phones (the last 9 months on the W800) with no problems at all.

I was once told to make sure the magnet is at the back of the phone away from the screen.

Good to see most people have the same opinion here - so I guess I shouldn't be worried about it. However, I do recall visiting a phone dealer recently with the intention of buying a magnetic case for my 6280, but he steered me away from it stating that there have been problems with this in the past.

I was already curious back then about this magnetic-casing-dilemmas . . . that's why I always get the ones with 'velcro' locks/enclosures - to be sure . . .
