It's mean to be tiny!
You connect it to the IRDA socket on your motherboard and mount it somewhere internally that has an opening
I suggest you put 2 holes in one of your 5.25inch covers and put it there

I ordered the same cable from Expansys at 13.20, they have shipped it at 15.20 so I am fully expecting it in the next post.
You can't knock them for speed can you?.
Did IrDa get expensive because of PDAs and Mobiles, £30 to £50 seems a little on the dear side for such an old technology.

No idea, but it's slow as owt too.

Think i'll have to purchase the cable.

I tried to upload a 6K bg/grnd pic to my phone, but it said there 'wasnt' enough space. ( I did it through IR ). Any ideas what's up?

There's hardly any contacts on it (about 100) and there's plenty of time left on the voice recorder. Soo?

Thanks for any help,

Dan.

Hi, What's the cheapest anybody's found for a Infra-red device for a PC? I seen them for about £30, but i know there must be some cheaper?

I bought a C PEN IR ADAPTER IRDA-RS-232 CONVERTER (attaches to serial port) from buy.com in March for $35 (US). It's a little light sensitive, but mostly works fine.

I have this tiny and cool looking(in my humble opinion) adapter. They are sold all over Asia but I can only find it online on eBay(U.S. - search on 'usb irda').

It works great (with R520m). It's BF-120, comes with a cable as well.
