Sell the phone and card, its worth way more than a w810 and you could buy an 810 and have about 50quid profit! Don't swap it, for just an 810 as you'd be mad!

Thanks for the responses. It seems general opinion is that the k800i is a great phone so I decided to put my annoyances aside for a bit and give it a try.
Well, after 3 days of trying it, It still seems big and heavy and the video recorder is crap but the camera and other features are all excellent.
The problem is, the sales rep who said to try it and she would get back to me monday still hasn't been in touch so looks like I'm not getting the memory card and now it's suddenly started making a vibrating noise when any one speaks on the other end. It just sounds like something is loose inside. This is pretty shocking after 3 days of use and I've barely used it at all. This has suprised me since I was pretty impressed with the quality feel of the handset.
So now I'm fuming, voda called us several times trying to persuade us to stay with them and when we finally agree, they send the wrong phone, they send what is apparently a faulty phone, the sales rep doesn't bother getting back to me to solve the issue and it's clear they don't really seem to care much about their customer.

Get back onto them, and cancel the contract, and move elswhere mate. Like you say, they are not bothered about you, or they would have called back.

the 14 day cooling off period is not a legal requirement of ANY network... Basically Vodafone off u the 14days as a goodwill return or exchange IF THE PHONE HASNT BEEN USED! if the phone has been used then they are fully within the law to not offer an exchange or refund...
That is all stated in the T&C's and the refund and exchange policy that comes with everyone single handset in the box and is also on the website and in all of vodafones stores.
So once a handset has been used Vodafone CAN and WILL refuse to offer a refund or exchange... So i got ma fingers crossed for u...

Dude you are crazzy why on earth are you annoyed?! voda have basically sent you £100 for free. The K800i is worth lots more than the W810i. So if you want the W810i sell your K800i and pocket £100 as well as a w810i. Personaly i would be very happy with voda!

I can fully understand why you are fuming, not great customer service, money going out of your pocket from phone calls to Vodafone, added stress, and also handing you a phone you do not wish to have. But as other members have said on here, ditch the phone, buy a W810i then pocket the change and take you girlfriend on a date.

@ voda_jon
When the phone arrived and I saw it was the wrong one I didn't take it out of the wrapper or touch it in any way as I fully intended sending it back. The sales rep was the one that said to use it over the weekend and they WOULD exchange it for another model if it still wasn't suitable. The contract deal they offered was actually pretty decent and suits us both so I'm not really thinking of trying to cancel it and I'm sure they thought they were doing a good thing by sending the k800i. I would still like the phone to be exchanged because of this terrible earpiece vibration but I'll be happy with another k800i now.
@ WelshTom
I'm not so much annoyed at the phone, more that I had my heart set on particular phone and was told it was available then received the wrong one and being told the one I wanted was discontinued, even though it is still being advertised.
And the fact the phone appears to have a fault. On top of this, being ignored by their reps I think I am right to be annoyed with voda.
The sales rep who said she would get back to me also gave me her name and an extension number to get to her directly but when I phoned voda they said it was impossible to put through to an extension as they have too many call centres.
To top it all off, the e900 that my girlfriend got has problems too, locking up and freezing at certain times. She wants my k800i now.

Well the k800i grew on me so I decided to keep it but I never did get that free memory card, since the original rep never contacted me I spoke to someone else who said that they didn't stock memory cards for that phone.
However, the problems continued with missus' samsung e900 so she asked voda if she could swap it for a k800i which they agreed and it arrived the very next day.
They also pointed out that all handsets are on a 14 day return policy and if she decides she doesn't like the k800i she can swap for something else, whether it is faulty or not and whether it has been used or not and I am still entitled to change mine also.
So with that, voda have gone up in my estimations a bit now.
