Hardware:
The form factor of the M600 is simply amazing, sure it doesn't have the camera but i can live with it keeping in mind the camera quality of the P series. wifi i don't need and it's not there in the P910 anyway. I have gotten used to the keyboard but personally speaking i don't know why they can't have T9 for writing emails and docs. I like the fact that it's faster to enter unique words but i end up having to use two hands everytime for text entry

. Battery life is way better on the M600, it's twice the life that the P990 used to give me.
OS
The OS is definitely more aesthetic, it has the bells and whistles that appeal to users. Aesthetics however bring with them an associated problem: the OS in the M600 is slower. The p910's speed surprises me every time i need to look something up on it. If only there were a way to disable the animations, maybe that would improve speed. Having said that the guys at SE have constantly been improving speed with each update.
Multitasking is easier in the M600 but keep in mind many of us are having performance restarts. There are some bugs which need ironing out and Sony have been pretty good with the frequency of updates.
There aren't many software titles right now but their numbers will definitely grow.
Bling:
Now this is a factor that not many people admit to but when the P990i or even the W950 come out the M600 won't be the most expensive phone that SE make and that might be problem with some people.
My overall feelings are pretty mixed, sometimes I like it sometimes I don't, form factor & the fact that it's a new phone are a plus but i get bugged at times with the keyboard.
great post Adhussain!
i'm looking to buy it and now i'm a little bit scared.
My phone is a Sharp GX20 and i'm pretty sure it will be better with M600, but i don't want to loose quick operations like writing messages or answering/hanging calls...
But i don't see another solution, i don't like Nokia E61 (i agree with you, form factor of the M600 is amazing!!!) and P990 it's too big. What do u think?

I've been using the M600i for three weeks now, switching from a P800.
Despite having actually lost some functionality (mainly syncing on Mac - to date) I love that phone for its form factor and the keyboard. The latter is really an upgrade considering the P800 (I won't mention the screen, speed, ...).
Surprisingly for how new the OS is I have had very little crashes (two, if I remember correctly). I even dropped it once quite hard on the tarmac and it went on without a glitch.
Battery-life is also great. Normal use in the UMTS network is five to six days continuous. Only if you let it check emails of three accounts every half an hour it goes down to a little over 24 hours.
Last but not least, the price is very good related to the features you get. And one more, you don't have to leave your beloved at the gate of the company, because of the lack of a camera.
All in all, I think it's actually THE phone for business people, while the P990 will (finally) be for freaks to show off.
That's all...

@darky
Did not want to offend you or any other prospective P990 user. I think it's quite save to say that 'freaks' apply real pressure on the companies to thrive on innovation, while 'normal people' are sometimes all too content with what there is. Go on, darky!
Ok, sorry, I ought to read the posts more closely. Anyways, I wanted to leave that comment concerning smartphones.

I have p910i and i am fully satisfied with it and would like to switch to m600i because of its form factor and keyboard. In india there are not many wi-fi spots or 3g network , so these features are not very usefull and both p910i and m600i lack edge support. so switching to m600i will not be very usefull. moreover i am using 2gb card whereas for m600i maximum 512mb card is availble, in india it will take atleast 6 to 8 months when 2gb micro m2 card will be available. other problems are lack of applications such as TCPMP, resco pic viewer, ogg player, magic launcher, pc file manager, repligo, magic screen, advance english dictionary, lexisgoo etc without these its not fun to use uiq phones. so for time being iam restraining myself to buy m600i as i will loose many functionality instead of gaining anything except form factor.

Hi, my prvious phones where the P800 - P900 and P910 and now i have switched to the M600, I would not return to any of those or the new P990, i found the M600 everything what i need, taking pictures with a digital camera is far better quality and i just bring it from the pc to my M600, the interface is the same as for the P990, so very good just one thing is that you can not look up a word or a name in the contacts, this is a pitty as i have more than a 1000 names and finding a fish restaurant, was far eassier before. But maybe it will be possible again in the future, the keyboard is easy and a pleasure, after a while you are getting fast with typing. Just go for the M600 it is much thinner aswell, and this is a good point. gregory
