It works fine in my card-reader. Mine's some $10 no-name "5 million in one"-type card reader.

your epsom printer reads the m2 card?

Unless I'm "lost in translation" again (this fondness for achronyms drives me insane) the answer is "yes".

I understood (probably wrong) that M2 was short for Memory Stick PRO DUO.

If M2 stands for something else then the answer is "sorry, I don't know".

Please note that I have to use an adaptor (MSAC-M2 is what it reads) in order to use it.

M2 is another name for Memory Stick Micro, and it's the new, even smaller cards used in the K800, M600 and other new phones. It's not the older MS Pro Duo used in the K750, W800, W810, etc.

My card reader works fine with the phone-supplied 64MB M2 and a 256MB M2 that I bought, but the 1GB M2 gives me similar problems to the other posts (OS X and WinXP can't see it) even though the phone can format and write to it. I thought it was the 1GB capacity that was the problem. I bought a second 1GB M2 from a different vendor and still the same issue.
I'll have to dig out an old VAIO with built-in Memory Stick reader to see if that works.

An update since my last post.

A tip on a cardreader to check out.
A buddy of mine has a "sandisk imagemate 12 in 1, model number SDDR-89" and it can read my and two other 1gb M2 cards.
