is it not that mobile-review, 90% of the time, gets their reviews and comparisons out before other sites do because they get their hands on the devices before everyone else does? *cough*pre-release*cough* the gsmarena one claimed that they're doing the comparison on the
release version of their respective firmwares. i'm not a big k800 fanboy (distaste for the design), but aside from the purple fringing on overexposed areas (as mentioned, likely a result of the quality lens from zeiss), Sony proves themselves more experienced in the software plumbing that works the hardware (onboard white balancing/compression vs. quality tradeoff/exposure adjustment/etc.). On sharpness, color and detail - the K800 wins hands-down. and a "sharp/hi-fidelity picture" is not a subjective thing either.

Those pics from a k800 on mobile-review are a little weird, I've seen a lot better pics from many other sites and forums. There's something's cheesy there...

@pow the mobile-review cam comparison of n93 and k800 was posted quite some time ago.I guess that comparison was made by prototypes of the 2 phones.But this comparison of gsmarena seems to be from the final release versions.
So i guess

took notice of the shortcomings against the n93 and finetuned its firmware before finally releasing the fone for sale.i guess thats why we're seeing better results from the k800 in this comparison.
I wish they 'finetune' the video now aswell.

^^^ looks like im not the only one not impressed by m-r
on another note, doesnt the N80 and N73 have 3MP cameras too? Nokia doesnt seem to be pimping that fact as much as they do with the N93

S700 had a Zeiss CCD lens.....and £500 cost when new(sim-free); last time I remember

using CCD(big shame)....
....N93 is a flagship device, hence it's use for comparisons(of all aspects) over N80(jack of all trades), and N73(for the masses).....those two both lack in certain areas(not necessarely imaging) to be flagship handsets

I have to agree with my friend Boba here. These are first and foremost phones with camera's. Not the other way around. They are designed to place and receive phone calls first. Anything else is gravy. To have an endless and pointless debate (Boba's words, but I agree) is moot. When out and about without a camera, I use my k800i. When I am taking simple things, I use my Sony DSC-N1, but for the serious stuff I break out the Nikon D200. Three different devices for three different uses. This is a no brainer it would seem, or to be honest some people need something to complain about.
